One of Fort Worth's favorite — and only — ice cream shops is expanding: Melt Ice Creams, which has been churning ice cream for Fort Worth since 2014, will open a shop in The District at Willow Park, a high-end restaurant row and entertainment venue in Parker County.
According to a release, the new shop is expected to open at 460 Shops Blvd. in summer 2024.
Founder Kari Crowe-Seher says in a statement that it has been a dream to expand westward. Willow Park is about 20 miles west of downtown Fort Worth.
“Our goals are always to be deeply rooted in building memories with our community, and we can't wait to serve up scoops of joy to our new friends and neighbors in Willow Park and Aledo," she says.
Melt Ice Creams first debuted in 2014 in Fort Worth’s Near Southside. They’ve since opened three more locations: two in Fort Worth, in Sundance Square and the North Side, and a third in Dallas’ Bishop Arts. Their ice cream can also be found in some grocery stores around DFW.
The new location will serve the same menu: 11 basic flavors in options such as strawberry, rocky road, peanut butter, and cookie dough, plus seasonal flavors; as well as milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, and sundaes.
The District at Willow Park is an open-air, mixed-use development that'll open in the summer with restaurants and an amphitheater with live music. So far, they've signed one other food tenant: The District Butcher, a butcher shop with dine-in and ready-to-go meals, beer, and wine.
