During the 26 November 2024 Council Meeting, the City began the planning process for the Squaw Creek Road Street Improvement Project. During the 14 September 2021 Council Meeting, the Council approved Willow Park's Comprehensive Street Improvement Plan and funding options, however, Squaw Creek Road was presented as a separate project with separate engineering challenges and financing requirements.

Summary: Work began 28 November 2022 on Phase One (1) of the Willow Park Comprehensive Street Improvement Project, which is expected to be completed the beginning of December 2023. Four (4) roads will be reconstructed with concrete: Crown Road; Sam Bass Road; Ranch House Road; Kings Gate Road. In addition, eleven (11) roads will be improved with asphalt on reconstructed road foundations.

Kings Gate Road Bridge and 100 feet of Kings Gate Road on either side of the Kings Gate Road Bridge are the maintenance and construction responsibility of the Texas Department of Transportation, TxDOT. Although the Kings Gate Bridge is not part of the Willow Park Street Improvement Project; Willow Park has partnered with TxDOT to replace the bridge within a few years of Willow Park's King Gate Road improvement project, which began March 2023.
