Willow Park Police Chief Franklin resigns, Interim Police Chief Hamilton sworn.
In an unexpected turn of events -- at least to Willow Park Citizens -- Willow Park Police Chief Daniel Franklin has resigned, and Lieutenant of Field Operation Quincy Hamilton has been sworn as Interim Willow Park Police Chief. [1]
As Citizens learned during the 23 January 2025 Special Council Meeting [1], Chief Franklin resigned during his annual performance review the beginning of January [2], and the City quickly scheduled a 23 January Special Council Meeting to accept Franklin's resignation and choose an interim Police Chief
Franklin began his Willow Park Police Department service as the Assistant Willow Park Police Chief in August 2018, [3] and was promoted to Police Chief June 2023. [3]
Officer Quincy Hamilton, who "comes from East Texas with 6yrs of law enforcement experience in various areas," was sworn into the Willow Park Police Department on 02 August 2023. [4] He was promoted to Corporal in March 2022 [5], and promoted again in June 2023 to Lieutenant of Field OperationJ. [6]
New Interim Police Chief Hamilton was presented his new Chief badge by Willow Park Council Chawn Gilliland, who is also the Administrative Chief of Criminal Investigation Division, Parker County District Attorney's Office. [1]
