Willow Park election cancelled -- again.

For the second, consecutive two-year term, Mayor Doyle Moss and Council Place 1 Eric Conteras are the default winners of the Willow Park May 2023 election. In addition Council Place 2 Chawn Gilliland, appointed by the Mayor during the 08 March 2022 Council Meeting, is the default winner of his council seat.

During the 28 February 2023 Council Meeting, the city cancelled the May 2023 elections for Mayor and council seats 1 and 2. Since no one applied to run against the incumbents, they are considered as elected to remain in their positions.

Moss was originally elected in May 2017, and his last election was May 2019.

Contraras was appointed by Mayor Moss to fill empty City Council Chair 1 in 2018 and ran and won against an opponent in 2019; he has since run opposed.

The May 2019 election was the last Willow Park election; all elections since then have been cancelled because no one ran opposed to the incumbants.

The following are our current Mayor and Council and their contact emails.

The council voted to cancel the May 6 election as all of the candidates are running unopposed.

Moss will retain his position as mayor, as will Gilliland on Council Place 2 and Place 1 Councilman Eric Contreras.
