It was another busy week addressing your top concerns and the important issues facing our nation. Read below for an update on my work serving you.
Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Act of 2023
I am proud to see my legislation pass the House with complete bipartisan support by a vote of 407-0. The Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Act of 2023 provides a path to help veterans begin their journey in starting a small business through the Boots to Business program. After dedicating their lives to protect our freedom, veterans deserve access to top notch tools and resources. I encourage my Senate colleagues to bring up this legislation as soon as possible to support our veterans in their transition from military service to the private sector. Read my full release here.
Protecting America's Economic Security
Since the moment Biden took office, his failed policies have increased spending by over $10 trillion. Inflation has skyrocketed out of control and continuously stolen money from hard-working Americans' paychecks. I’m proud to have helped draft and present the FY 2024 budget proposal with the RSC which will balance the federal budget in 7 years, cut spending, and reduce taxes. This budget will save our economy while standing up for Republican values such as securing our nation, restoring energy independence, combating the threat of China, and more.
Holding Biden and the Democrats Accountable
President Biden and the radical left have lied and misled the American people for too long! House Republicans have taken the first steps in holding Adam Schiff and Biden accountable for their clear abuses of power and misconduct. I am proud to support the resolution to censure Rep. Schiff for misleading the American people and making a mockery of Congress as Chair of the Intel Committee, costing the taxpayers millions. I am also glad to say that House Republicans have referred a resolution on the impeachment of Joe Biden to the Judiciary and Homeland Security committees to begin investigating the misconduct and illegal activity coming to light almost daily. The American people demand the truth and I am honored to represent the 25th District of Texas in the fight for our American values.
