Republicans Mark an End to the COVID-19 Pandemic
02 February 2023
Dear Texans,
Republicans are unified in our commitment to move past the COVID-19 pandemic and end the emergency powers that have been abused to attack Americans’ personal freedoms.
The Biden Administration has used the pandemic as an excuse to enact liberal policies and justify trillions in spending, which has sparked the worst inflation crisis in a generation. We can not continue to allow the Administration to expand this federal overreach and prolong the government’s reckless spending of taxpayer dollars, all in the name of COVID.
This week, House Republicans voted to pass two pieces of legislation: The Pandemic is Over Act and The Freedom for Health Care Workers Act.
H.R. 382: Pandemic is Over Act, GovTrack
This bill terminates the COVID-19 public health emergency that was declared on January 31, 2020, on the date of the bill's enactment
H.R. 497: Freedom for Health Care Workers, Act GovTrack
This bill nullifies the rule titled Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination, which was issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on November 5, 2021, and prohibits the issuance of any substantially similar rule. The rule requires health care providers, as a condition of Medicare and Medicaid participation, to ensure that staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
These bills end the public health emergency and nullifiy the vaccine mandate for healthcare workers. It is time to get our country and economy moving forward and put an end to wasteful COVID spending
In God we trust,
Roger Williams
Member of Congress
The US House Representative for Texas District 25, which includes Willow Park.
