Weatherford Housing Market Analysis and why it matters to Willow Park.
The stampede is coming through Willow Park. You may not like it. You may flee or you may prepare to grab an opportunity. The winners will be those Parker County cites, who plan now to lasso the best cattle as they stampede by. (OK, enough of that.)
Here is what Weatherford, County Seat and largest city Parker County, is planning -- and why it matters to Willow Park.
From Fort Worth center, West on I20, Weatherford center is 30 miles. And at mile 20 is Willow Park. In East Parker County, Weatherford, Willow Park and Hudson Oaks are the only towns with I20 traveling through the town proper.
The City of Weatherford was presented the Weatherford Housing Market Analysis 2023 during a 15 February, 2024 Special Joint Session Agenda of Weatherford's City Council & Planning & Zoning Commission. [Source for this blog.] Agenda Work Item 2a / Archived Video
Here are some highlights that include Parker County.
• Three counties in DFW topped the charts for percent growth over 2021 to 2022. Kaufman County was ranked 2nd in the US, Rockwall County was ranked 6th, and Parker County was ranked 8th. Additionally, Comal County between San Antonio and Austin as well as Chambers County east of Houston saw themselves in the top 10 for percent growth.
• "Weatherford currently has over 2,000 lots or units of residential underdevelopment including the following:
1,567 single family lots,
1,224 multifamily units,
and 121 townhome lots.
These projects range from small, two-lot single family projects up to 310-unit multifamily projects."
• Parker county Single Family Activity The map to the [left] shows development activity of single family neighborhoods with greater than 50 units within Parker County. Much of the current development activity is happening in Walsh Ranch and Morningstar Ranch and is expected to continue for some time as both developments have a significant number of lots remaining to be developed. [None of these are in Willow Park.]
