Sanitary sewer line along Bankhead Highway from Ranch House Road to the east city limits
Note: The Willow Park Wastewater Treatment Project consists of four projects: the new plant (WWTP), the effluent lines to the Squaw Creek Club, an extension of wastewater lines under I20, and wastewater lines along Bankhead South. All are covered at Willow Park Civics > City > City Services > Wastewater
During the 11 April 2023 Council Meeting (Agenda Item 13), the council considered "the use of the funds from the American Rescue Plan Act [ARPA] to construct a new sanitary sewer line along Bankhead Highway from Ranch House Road to the east city limits. The project consists of approximately 5,500 linear feet of an 8” gravity sewer along Bankhead Highway from Ranch House to the east city limits. This project will allow service to the currently unserved areas east of Ranch House and south of Interstate 20."
Although there are only $939K left of the total $1.448K ARPA funds remaining, the project is estimated to cost $1,152,768. Preliminary Estimate in .pdf was submitted during the 11 April 2023 Council Meeting.
Not included in the current estimate, but one of the goals of this project might be to build a lift station to eliminate the need for smaller privately owned lift stations on the south side of the city; for example Family Dollar at the south end of Ranch House Road has it's own sanitary lift station.
