The Weatherford Mountain Bike Cub (WMBC) would like to announce the opening of a new mountain bike trail called, The Trinity Track. The name, Trinity Track, pays homage to the old Trinity Meadows horse racetrack that once operated on the grounds. The new trail is in the City of Willow Park, Texas at a city park called, Kings Gate Park. The 30-acre park features a playground, parking and a two-mile, paved bikeway. The western boundary of the park is defined by the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. The bikeway is connected by two pedestrian bridges that span the river where restaurants, a coffee shop, brewery and an ice cream parlor can be found.
The Trinity Track mountain bike trail welcomes all recreational trail users on foot or mountain bike. The trail is less than a mile in length and beginner friendly. The Green Trail is a loop that features three bridges, a small rock garden and wide, sweeping corners. The Yellow Trail serves as a connector to a pedestrian bridge adjacent to Bridge Street. Once across the river, trail users traverse south parallel to the river to a second pedestrian bridge that connects to the Green Trail
The Trinity Track and the bikeway have EMT 911 markers stationed throughout the park that are georeferenced with the Willow Park Fire Rescue. There are directional markers along the singletrack. The primary trailhead kiosk with trail maps, rules of the trail and trail etiquette reminders is located between the parking lot and the playground adjacent to Kings Gate Road. There are secondary kiosks located near the two pedestrian bridges.
Parking for the Trinity Track can be found at Kings Gate Park adjacent to Kings Gate Road approximately an eighth of a mile north of Interstate 20. There is also parking at The Shops of Willow Park (210 Shops Boulevard, Willow Park, TX 76087). From The Shops location it is a short bike ride to Kings Gate Park.
