Santa should bring mountain bikes for Christmas! Paperwork's done for the new WP bike/hike trails.
The planning and paperwork are done, and the Willow Park / Weatherford Mountain Bike Club “single-track hiking/biking trails” will become a “reality this winter.”
First up, the Kings Gate Park mountain bike trails along the Clear Fork Trinity River that runs between the Kings Gate Park* and The District*2. The mountain bike trails will include a special Kids Mountain Bike Skills Area.
During the November 2023 Council Meeting, the City and the Weatherford Mountain Bike Club approved an official, three year, user agreement for work on “single-track hiking/biking trails,” designated in the Willow Park Parks & Trails Master Plan Addendum*. The user agreement, includes an indemnification, and a “$2 Million Commercial General Liability Insurance policy.”
“As the reality of the Willow Park Trails begins this winter”, a User Agreement with the Weatherford Mountain Bike Club should be in place to assign it the responsibility to build and maintain the single-track hiking/biking trails, and indemnify the City, as is done for the Weatherford and Aledo trail systems.*3
