During the 10 October 2023 Council Meeting, Agenda Item 5, (FB video 19:22) the council approved the Willow Park Trails Amendment Master Plan "which includes a current, realistic, and implementable trail plan and map, officially validating the trail project." In addition, the Parks Board introduced the new New Kids Mountain Bike Skills Area and Trails at Kings Gate Park (< Willow Park Civics Blog).
And at the center of Willow Park's Parks and Trails Master Plan is the new Kings Gate Park (< Willow Park Civics Blog) with its play-ground, cement walking trails, and now plans for mountain bike trails, Kids Mountain Bike Skills Area, sports fields, bathrooms and more.
And remember, the Willow Park Kings Gate Park and Trails, just off and visible from I20, is surrounded by the following:
a variety of family residences
a hospital and medical buildings
a hotel with conference center
Willow Park North, by the Wilks Development
The Shops at Willow Park, with its new The District of restaurants, by the Wilks Development
Along with the Willow Park Parks Board and Willow Park Council Lea Young, Larry Colvin, the President of Weatherford Mountain Bike Club and Senior Civil Engineer Designer for Baird, Hampton & Brown, are the driving forces for this Willow Park Parks and Trails, and beyond.
The brochure is meant to educate and excite the general public, land developers, architects, engineers, planners, private land owners, and neighboring cities from Dallas to Mineral Wells.
