New mountain bike trail and kids skills area at Kings Gate Park, fundraising announced by City.
As planned, the Weatherford Mountain Bike Club will soon be starting the new Trinity Trails single-track mountain bike trails and Kids Mountain Bike Skills Area [1] in the City's Kings Gate Park, at the corner of Kings Gate Road and Meadow Place Drive.
The City of Willow Park, during their 12 March 2024 Council Meeting, announced the start of a funds drive by The Weatherford Mountain Bike Club. These funds will be used for supplies, equipment and signage for the trails and the skills track; the labor will be provided free of charge by the members of the Weatherford Mountain Bike Club. With a goal of $16,500 donations, checks only made payable to Weatherford Mountain Bike Club, are encouraged at two Willow Park locations:
• PlainsCapital Bank Willow Park, 100 Crown Pointe Blvd. in the front of The Shops, on the north side of I20.
• Willow Park City Hall, 120 El Chico Trail.
The new mountain bike trail will be along the Clear Fork Trinity River that separates the north residential side and south retail side of the Wilks Development Willow Park North. The new Kids Mountain Bike Skills Area will be at the corner of the Kings Gate Drive and Meadow Place Drive, just north of the existing play ground.
The Bike Club is an intricate part of the new East Parker County Trails (EPCoT) Master Plan [Master Trails Amendment], which has the City's Kings Gate Park and Trails at the center of EPCoT, which includes several county trail systems.

• Fund Raising Narrative
The Weatherford mountain bike club, a 501c-3 nonprofit, is raising funds ($16,500.00) to support the construction of a kids' mountain bike skills area and trail located at Kings Gate Park in Willow Park, Texas called, the Trinity Track.
The Trinity Track will have berms, armored trail, bridges and other trail elements suitable for kids and beginners. Additionally, 3,000± linear feet of singletrack trail will be constructed on the park property to help beginners progress to riding more difficult mountain bike trails.
The project needs funding to provide a safe and easily accessible opportunity for kid's and beginners to learn the fundamentals of mountain biking. The project site is served by a bikeway that will allow citizens from nearby neighborhoods to ride to the Trinity Track trails

Create a new recreational trail user amenity to Kings Gate Park.
