New Kids Mountain Bike Skills Area and Trails at Kings Gate Park
New mountain bike trails with a special Kids Mountain Bike Skills Area are coming to Willow Park's Kings Gate Park. As part of the WP Parks and Trails Master Plan and Trail Amendment, Willow Park is going to be in the very center of East Parker County Trails, EPCoT.
Along with the City, the Weatherford Mountain Bike Club is planning to build the new, Kings Gate Park trails "with $0 tax dollars from the City." The Club is planning to apply for a $10K grant to support construction of mountain bike trails throughout the City.
Construction of the Kings Gate Park mountain bike trails, including the Kids Mountain Bike Skill area, should start the beginning of 2024.
And at the center of Willow Park's Parks and Trails Master Plan is the new Kings Gate Park, with its play-ground, cement walking trails, and now plans for mountain bike trails, training trails, sports fields, bathrooms and more.
And remember, the Willow Park Kings Gate Park and Trails, just off and visible from I20, is surrounded by the following:

a hospital and medical buildings
a hotel with conference center

• The Pit is a kids Mountain Bike Skills area and trail located at 104 Robinson Street in downtown Aledo. It consists of small rollers, berms, rock gardens and bridges suitable for kids and beginners and includes an 1,800 linear foot singletrack trail that meanders around the community center property and nearby creek. The Pit was entirely built with volunteer effort and cooperation with area businesses and citizens that provided services, materials, and funding. The Aledo Community Center has plenty of parking, a fantastic playground, a pavilion, nearby restaurants, coffee shops and stores. Weatherford Mountain Bike Club > Trails.
