No one at the Willow Park City Council meeting could be happier than Candice Scott Jock, and it showed in the way she laughed loudly in the cluster of people visiting her before the meeting.
Jock was at the council meeting to receive accolades for her retirement from the city after 25 years of service. But there was also a certain glow that showed in her smile as she and her husband Wayne Jock chatted about plans since their recent wedding.
"We are going to get a nice motor home and go see the U.S.," Candice said. "We are going to have fun and see the world!"
After beginning her career as administrative assistant, communication director Rose Huffman said Jock began filling many other positions in the city.
"With 25 years of service, there is a lot of history that is leaving with Candi," Huffman said of her former co-worker. "She has done pretty much everything in this city except police chief. We are going to miss her, but we're happy for her."
The council meeting opened with Mayor Doyle reading recognitions and honors to which Jock prefixed with, "OK, I'm going to try to keep from crying,"

In city business, two items were directed to the January 14 meeting. City Manager Bryan Grimes presented the motion that the article concerning a professional services agreement with Jacob Martin, LLC, be moved to next month to allow further consideration for street improvements for Squaw Creek Estate West. A public hearing on the petition seeking the creation of the Beall-Dean Ranch Public Improvement District within the jurisdiction of Willow Park will also be on the January docket.
A contract for Jocob & Martin was approved for water and sewer services in the Beall-Dean Ranch property.
